The Night Before the Resurrection

Talk about wierd. It's T - 13 hours until we pack and go for the event and we are totally under control. We've even got an almost clean house - goddamn timing on the electrical inspection. We've got four loaves of fresh bread, 2 bags of kit not already loaded into a car and our own stuff and that's all. Everything else is assigned - we may even have all the bits for the Teepees. I'm not going to say for definite until they are up and pitched. In fact you can tell it's well under control because I'm posting on LJ.
It's been a bit boring to be honest. The panic kind of gets you excited, there has been no panic so consequential I'm not excited yet. I hope I will be by tomorrow afternoon. If nothing else Chris and Elly are coming, and i'm really looking forward to that.

We had the team meeting last night, and explained the plot to Shires who loved it which made things better. I had been a bit worried that it was thin but he said it was okay and there was plenty going on.

So, Aberddu Adventures Event 8 here we come : Ressurection, almost called Awakening and Wild Fire or Wild Fire Rising, soon to be referred to as Clare's Secret Hole. I still haven't got my t-shirt, I may indulge tomorrow morning when i do the shopping if they have my size.

I should go and tidy the rest of my bed and get a good nights sleep, but I'm not sure I'll know what to do with it.

Anyway - Ian & Hazel I wish you were both here, but I hope you're having fun a million miles away without us.

The Day Before the End of the World
[info]auntielil32
So, it's the day before the end of the world - other wise known as the last day of school before summer, or an absolute educational waste of time, or the day we've all been waiting for. It can't come soon enough, like every other teacher in the country I'm worn to a frazzle and will probably have to slide out of bed tomorrow and drag myself bodily to the car.
People who do other jobs think that it's pathetic - they don't get six weeks holiday, they don't get so much time off how can we be so tired when we only work 7 weeks at a time?
The answer: teaching is not only physically but mentally and in the case of SEN teaching emotionally exhausting. It's a job you can't put down, a job that follows you everywhere even the supermarket. You have to do it well because if you don't then you could seriously mess up someone's future. You will be remembered for the rest of the lives of the people you teach - particularly if you are very good .... or very bad. It's not just  a job. All I would say to people who think we get it soft is - go on - try it!

I blame Ian and Hazel
[info]auntielil32
So now I have an LJ - because of Ian and Hazel - now I have half a chance of keeping up with what they are doing and not feeling like they've actually fallen off the world.
